Our Story

Our story began as a friendship between a line cook and a waitress working in a fine dining restaurant. We were inspired to produce kitchen-themed T-shirts and soon began offering prepared food at the Tower Grove Farmers' Market and pop-ups. In the summer of 2016, we opened a brick and mortar location, Kounter Kulture.

Songbird is our latest creative and culinary endeavor, opening in the Winter of 2020. You may know our breakfast sandwich from the Tower Grove Farmers market — The “combo” has a loyal following after seven market seasons. Yes, it was the impetus for Songbird, but we hope to entice you to try the rest of the menu! The menu is elevated comfort food sourced locally and sustainably, with several bread options made in-house. We have partnered with Sump to execute the coffee program to ensure it’s the best of the best. You deserve it.
